We Are Scientists (I was too busy/lazy to write this before)

So...anyway...Thursday the 26th of October was probably one of the best days of my life.

Be aware THIS IS HUUUUUUGE AND ONLY ATTEMPT TO READ IT ALL IF YOU'RE BORED...IF YOU'RE NOT BORED...SKIP TO THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS AT THE BOTTOM!!!

Me and Iona had decided that (after seeing WAS at T in The Park...and meeting them the next day) that we REALLY REALLY wanted to see them live again...

BUT...one problem. the gig was all sold out...cue us buying off of ticket touts on ebay...£30 EACH! but it was worth it :P

So anyway...i decided to stay overnight at Iona's the night before cause it was easier for getting trains...and we decided to bake :)
we made bright red cookies with galaxy and white chocolate chips and blue icing (we like our food colourings :P) we decorated them and they looked pretty fuckign awesome (didnt get any pictures :( )

So...Thursday...we decide seen as it's the holidays that we're gona go through to Glasgow early and sit outside in the freezing cold and try and meet them again...(we were pretty doubtful at that point...but then...what's this on the TV...Anastasia!...thats right...the cartoon film...one of mine and Iona's favourite kiddies film that we've seen far too many times...i see this as a good luck sign)

We head to the train station..get rolls on route and try and work out where the hell we're going (my mum gave me LOADS of maps and shit) we get on the right train...talk shit...change at edinburgh and we're on our way to Glasgow...no seats so we're forced to share with a guy who turns out writes childrens books or thats what we think atleast...we saw one title (Uncle Oyster Catcher :S) but he was pretty cool and we chatted to him and stuff...he went to a gig with his son and stuff...

Me and Iona get off train...we decide to use the SUPER toilets...turns out...they're not too super...pretty crappy infact...and the Edinburgh train station whips their asses(apart from their cues) we exit and find ourselves lost in the streets of Glasgow (it being the first time we've ever been apart from to go to gigs that we're dropped off at) we finally find our way after wandering for like 30mins in the wrong way and going up and down the same street multiple times...

We find our way to the Carling Academy and suspect that we're one of the first people there...turns out we were wrong...we met Jemma and Sara there...and other people we didnt really talk to :S but it was alright :D we chatted for ages and after a LONG wait...a taxi pulls up and out step Chris and The Tapper :D
(cue gah, blah, nonunderstandable noises and such and not much conversation)
but i managed to get a picture with Chris before they were taken away from us :(
and gave Chris a bag of our cookies...unfortunately they got pretty mangled on the journey and were just in parts...but still tastey...we kept one bag for ourselves :P)

So after that we got a little bored and decided to wander a little...
and it turns out...the Carling Academy is classy

So yeah...the other people left for a while and then Sara had to leave :( cause her dad was being mean and not letting her go to the gig...but Jemma stayed :)
We wandered around the building a little more...got watched by security who thought we were like trying to sneak in somewhere...we werent...just walkign on the grass lol...

And then the other people came back...and we all sat around for a while...ate some of our cookies...uhm...saw Shawn (Emo Roadie :P) sorting through his laundry...we all bothered him :P

We clicked :P

Cue more chatting and being bored...finally deciding to sit on the semi-wet curb and wait for somethign to happen...and then Keith comes strolling out...

It's also huge...

So we all chat with him...he writes out a shopping list for one of the other people (who are fairly drunk by this time :P) which was amusing...Keith seemed a little freaked out but was smiling and laughing the whole time...and that smile...*melts* Jemma also got him to phone Sara...

So anyway..bored and chatting again...try to listen at the door to soundcheck(i swear i heard Michael singing hotel california) but get told to back off incase the door falls on us WTF :S)...start talkign to some Roadie...ask to sit on his Lorry...he tells us you have to have insurance...i ask to sit on the ramp he's fine with that (meanwhile he's smoking a fg next to something that says HIGHLY FLAMMABLE on it)
anyway...he's toured with the Rolling Stones,McFly and Westlife is what we discovered..and that his favourite band are Pink Floyd

And then SUDDENLY Michael appears out of the side door muttering somethign about Central Station..we figure...we're hungry and might aswel go (by this time its just me Iona and Jemma) Jemma also comes cause she's meant to be meeting people anyway...they come around the corner at that very moment and come for a walk with us...

We asked how the tour was going...he says good and that it's fun :)

(this girl walked around the corner by the coliseum (she was obviously there for was) and saw us all walking along chatting nonchalantly with Michael and was standing there with her jaw on the ground. She obviously didn't go up to him because SHE THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS WITH MICHAEL TAPPER OH YES. ahaha.)

He seemed pretty shocked that me and iona had paid £30 each for a ticket...

We sorta swaped around who was talking to him cause it would have been REALLY weird him walking with 5 16 yera old girls...so he got the joys of our conversations...about English NABS/Personal Studies and Jaffa Cakes Anonymous and stuff :P he musta been all WTF...

(i also asked him if he was enjoying the weather(i had promised sara that i would bring it up with one of them...) and he gave me a weird look and realised i was joking and laughed and said
'oh yeah it's really great weather over here. i'm enjoying it very much'
and stuff like that. so we basically talked about all sorts of crap to pass the time.)

("so...what kind of music are you into at the minute then?"
Michael:"I'm getting into quite a lot of metal bands at the minute"
Who knew metal translated to Boyz II Men...)

i have also decided he is possibley one of the skinniest people i have ever met...see pictures below :|

and yeah...photos from our walk...we all look pretty windswept and he seems a little creeped out...but whatever :P

And then we went to McDonalds and left Tapper to do whatever he wanted :) I got chips...didnt fancy anything else...met those other people (sorry cant remember names) we chatted with them for ages...they were gutted they missed Tapper...and we all tried to stay inside for a long time to keep warm :P

Headed to Woolworths after that...got gloves £2! what a bargain! i was well chuffed...got food and stuff...headed back to the Carling Academy...we thought we were early...turns out we werent...but we got near the front thanks to a little pushing courtesy of Jemma :P

Got inside...bought my t-shirt and my bracelet(possibley my favourite band merch ever lol)
Got a good possition near the front...turns out ti was right next to all the fucking couples lol...they're harder to get through than most people and the security at the carling are completely opposed to pushing the people at the front...but if you're just behind it's alright if you're being squished to death :P but i actually secretly love it :P

anyway...two guys behind me think they can get past me cause im a small girl...turns out they cant...im good at gigs...a jab in the ribs and stamp on the foot and im still at the front...

But yeah...i didnt have much memory on my camera..which was pretty sucky so i couldnt get more photos (im gona buy a new memory card...hello 2GB :P)
I'm still gutted i accidentally deleted my video of the WHOLE of The Great Escape which was fucking awesome...but someone else had a video of it...so it wasn't too bad :)

I got a job!
after my first ever interview too...im well chuffed..

it's only Christmas work right now...but that's good enough for now...i might get kept on..

i got along really well with the interviewers, so im looking forward to working...

i start on Monday *eek* :|
£5.40 an hour :| thats a lot :|

(i'm basically looking forward to the money...mwa ha ha)

I'm blacking out, but it's been fun...
